Our Terms

To engage us for any of our services is to agree to our terms. As a result, please ensure that you have read and are comfortable with ALL the information here.

Private music lessons

Lessons are during school term time only.

Fees are invoiced on a per term basis (in the same way fees are invoiced at gymnastics, ballet,
football and private schools).

The term will be invoiced before the start of the term. Payment is required within 14 days of
invoice/email date.

A commitment to lessons is a commitment to the whole term. Just like other commitments (ballet,
gymnastics etc), missed lessons will be chargeable.

Any fees not paid by the due date will incur an immediate $20 administration fee. In addition, any fees not paid within the term they were invoiced for will also incur late payment interest of 6% per annum, charged monthly from the last Friday of the term the fee was for.

Whenever possible lessons will be in-person. If in-person lessons are not possible, lessons will be provided online. Please refer to “Contingencies – Online Lessons”.

Missed lessons

If 24 hours or more advance notice is given for a missed lesson, a lesson missed by the student due to other circumstances may sometimes be able to be “caught up”. These catchups are based on the teacher's availability and need to be during the same term.

If your teacher is unable to attend a lesson, that lesson will either be caught up that term or
deducted from the following term’s invoice.

Please note, any catchups due to Jonathan and I being absent are prioritised before any student absences. Further, if during a term a student has missed a lesson, and we have already done a “catchup” lesson for that student absence, but subsequently Jonathan or myself are absent for a lesson, the “catchup” lesson will be reallocated to Jonathan’s or my absence.

Group Activities

Glee Youth, Glee Adults, Advanced Band, Emerging Band

The group activities run in school term time only.

There will be a minimum of 7 rehearsals per term.

We will communicate which weeks we are teaching and those weeks with no lessons (due to public holidays or those we are unavailable for).
Fees are due - and must be paid for - before the start of the term for which they are due.

Marketing

In the course of the services we provide, there will be times when we photograph, video, and record
students or groups. These images/recordings/videos may then be published on our website or social
media pages.

If you do not wish for you or your student to be included in these images/recordings/videos, please
let us know as part of each registration.

Contingencies - online lessons

There may be instances where in person lessons are not possible: In these instances, we will make
ourselves available for an online lesson. This may be due to a varied of reasons such as – but not
limited to - a lockdown, a student isolating, us isolating.

During a lockdown or if a student is isolating, the lessons will be at the same day and time as the
student’s in-person lesson.

If we are required to isolate - but schools are still operating on site – we will provide online lessons.
Typically, these will be on the same day as the lesson is usually but sometime after 3pm. We will be
in communication about specific lesson times.

Students are not required to attend the online lesson, but the lessons will be chargeable whether
the student attends or not.

Where necessary – such as younger students – an adult or an older sibling may need to be present
during the lesson to aid the student.

Please ensure you have the facilities required for online lessons.

If an online lesson is required, please setup for your lesson and test the online facility before the
lesson time so that we can make best use of our time together. We will require video and audio
during our sessions.

Please join the online lesson 5 minutes before the start time in case you encounter issues.
